Oh Divine Love

Oh Divine Love, sing the glad song
from within my heart of hearts, the tune
which takes its torch from the inmost
sacred flame, and set me on fire!

What thing of mine has power to sing?
Which of my paltry little voices
shall stay with your mighty tone?
Drown me in that ocean-sound of
the first-born: I surrender to Thee.

And not until my being is shaken
unto oneness usher my voice to the void:
then into that silence more mighty than
your song shall I go, leaving begind me
but the echo that I was.
